Memoir-ish Poem?

hello again old neighborhood

with your brass beclad houses

it’s been a while since I saw you last

and I’ve come to say goodbye

you watched me leave one year ago

when i stuffed my shit in the back

of a powder blue ‘95 buick Riviera

and changed my life for good

sometimes i drive by late in the night

just to see how you’re doing

and drive away knowing what I leave behind

feeling the ghost of a home once had

I return to visit too often at night

for the eeriness of suburban past

and remember that it was on these streets

that my father taught me to drive

I can’t keep coming back like this

because my family remains

and when I knock on their red door

they turn me away like a slut

so I’m back once more, old neighborhood

but I will not be back soon

the people I love most are dead to me now

and I walk away to survive
